While the leading hunks, Akshay Kumar and John Abraham of Rohit Dhawaan’s upcoming film Desi Boyz were in deep slumber, Deepika Padukone was busy exploring the city of London on a cycle. The actor who will be romancing both Akki and John in the film, in spite of her chock-a-block schedule, would manage to take out time to keep her amazing body in shape. Deepika would vanish every morning without informing anyone and cycle around the popular streets like Oxford Street and Abbey Road in London. A little English birdie also chirps that Deepika would not miss her stringent cycle routine for a single day even if she partied the night before or was busy shooting for about 18 hours at a stretch! Now that’s what we call a dedicated fitness freak!

After all the hullabaloo and promises, the Bollywood star makes a fleeting appearance in the latest promo of his first bone fide Hollywood film. And it has saddened us…again!

When the first promo of Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol was released in India Anil Kapoor fans – like us – all over the world were mighty disappointed. There was no hint of the Bollywood biggie in the 2.24-minute-long trailer of the Hollywood flick. That’s what you get after all the big noise about the Slumdog Millionaire actor’s debut with the Top Gun dude! Anyway, soon the concerned production houses sprang into action and dashed out press releases stating that the next trailer would have Anil Kapoor in it, all to pacify his clamoring fans. Because the Indian population contributes in a large way to box-office collections of most Hollywood blockbusters, that was urgently needed. The PR act was enough to give waiting fans hope of a new high. Once again we waited with bated breath to see the Bollywood hero share screen space with the Hollywood big gun. And what we got was a bit of a whimper – Kapoor makes a fleeting appearance halfway through the 2.29-minute-long trailer, which essentially revolves around Tom Cruise’s character, Ethan. Another let down! So now we cannot help wondering if Anil’s role in the Hollywood flick will turn out to be like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s short and sweet appearance in The Pink Panther 2. Then we’d suggest our jhakaas man better stick to Indian shores and snip his Hollywood aspirations in the bud!

His lean frame and boyish looks make girls go weak in the knees, but that won’t stop Imran Khan from shedding his chocolate boy image for Vishal Bhardwaj’s film, Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola. The Kaminey director wants Imran to put on 15-18 kilos for the role. Vishal is very meticulous when he comes to the characters for his film. Stars have to undergo a complete make-over and get into the skin of their character to get the role right. Remember how Saif sported the rustic look for his Langda Tyagi in Omkara and how Shahid Kapoor had to grow a long mane in Kaminey and Priyanka Chopra had to look the part in 7 Khoon Maaf ? This film will be quite an experience for Imran who so far has portrayed an urban, young guy in most of his films. So will the Jaane Tu… Ya Jane Na actor, go on an eating spree and stuff himself with all the junk food in the world? Not really! Imran will appoint a special trainer to gain the required weight and he will be put on a high-carbohydrate diet to look the part. Wow! When most actors today are busy sculpting their six or eight packs, Imran Khan, just like his mamu, Aamir Khan is attempting something out of the box. Kudos to the young actor!

While trailers of Don 2 are just trickling in, a li’l birdie revealed that Farhan Akhtar is already on his way to scripting Don 3! This obsession with Don might make one wonder what is it that’s keeping Akhtar addicted to this Don drama? Well, it’s the elusive ending. Farhan Akhtar compares his plight to a famous dialogue from Don and says that “Don ko pakadna mushkil hai, story khatam hona bhi mushkil hai (Catching Don is difficult, ending the story is also difficult).” In that case, why don’t you start cooking up contests for this dilemma, dear Farhan? It will help you save you loads of time and money on Don 4, 5, 6… and many more. We have also heard that the third sequel of Don will be full of special effects and fights involving hi-tech laser guns and explosives. This makes us wonder if a certain RA.One plays a teeny-weeny role in inspiring Don 3. If that’s the case, please go through the complaint list that RA.One has generated, Farhan. After all, we don’t want another movie that’s all-SFX and no direction!

What’s the one good thing that came out of Tell me O Khuda? The fact that the rumour mills are talking of Esha Deol and Yash Chopra in the same breath. Amused? So were we! And just what are these rumours? It is said that Yash Chopra was so impressed with Esha’s performance in the movie that he has offered her a role in a Yash Raj film right alongside Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. We wonder, what if this turns out to be a blink-and-a-miss role for Esha and marks the beginning of her career as a sidey actress? But before we jump that particular gun, here is a piece of news for you. Our buddy the birdie who has an investigative soul happened to crosscheck this bit of gossip with Yash Raj’s official spokesperson. And, guess what – the news was denied, and vehemently! Now then, we wonder if this was Tell Me O KKhuda’s PR agency that was pushing the envelope with that little snippet. Anyway, while we were coming to terms with yet another rumour that vanished into thin air, we overheard Hema Malini trying to defend her movie with something that sounded very much like “How could you expect Tell Me O Kkhuda to do as well as RA.One?” To which we almost blurted, “Well, who did anyway?”

Hema Malini: ‘Tell Me O Kkhuda’ is not a flop

 

Hema Malini’s directorial venture Tell Me O Kkhuda, which was relaunch pad for her daughter Esha Deol has been facing the wrath of the media and is termed a failure. But the dream girl has a different opinion

Hema Malini claims that the film is not a box office failure and it’s the media that’s making such unnecessary claims.“It’s you people (media) who says it flopped. Tell Me O Kkhuda is doing well and it did not flop as you people are saying. Unlike RA.One, it has very less print so it is doing well accordingly,” Hema Malini told reporters at the function to celebrate the 56th Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day. Tell Me O Kkhuda, Hema’s second directorial venture after Dil Aashna Hai (1992), was received with not so supportive reviews. In addition to that, the viewers were more excited about Shahrukh Khan’s sci-fi superhero film. The actor was in Madhya Pradesh to do a show based for ‘Beti Bachao Andolan’ conducted by the state. “I will do a 20-minute show and will present how women were treated in earlier times and how their conditions have changed now.” She added that she is lucky to have daughters – Esha and Ahana – and that “I have no wish of having sons as I know, I will get two jamais (sons-in-law) because of my daughters.” Hema Malini, a Rajya Sabha member, was taken off guard when journos asked her whether she is charging for her performance at the Madhya Pradesh day celebrations or was doing it for free? “Why would I do it for free. There is an entire team who works with me,” she replied in surprise, adding, “But yes, I am charging a nominal fee.” Hema Malini’s film, Tell Me O Kkhuda was also released during the Diwali festival along with RA.One.

BIGG BOSS 5: Sky fights with Mahek, makes her cry

Big fights are the norm between the Bigg Boss 5 housemates now

Day 31 starts with Bigg Boss assigning Pooja Misrra the task of selecting two people as candidates for captainship. After much deliberation and discussion with other contestants, Pooja names the two people out of whom the captain for the coming week will be elected. In the evening, an argument breaks out between Shraddha Sharma and Sky (Akashdeep). When Sky asks Shraddha who she would elect as the captain for the coming week, Shraddha tells him that her decision was only for Bigg Boss to know. This cheeky response irritates him because he feels he has asked a very simple question. Shraddha, however, ignores him and says that she was suffering from a stomach ache and doesn’t want to talk about the captaincy nominations. Shraddha shares her conversation with Sky with the other housemates, who are impressed by her maturity in handling the situation without losing her cool. Post his argument with Shraddha, Sky approaches Amar with the same question. Amar, too, has no interest in disclosing his choice or continuing the conversation.

Near dinner time, a huge misunderstanding takes place which adds to the troubled atmosphere prevalent inside the Bigg Boss 5 house. Mahek is talking about Sky’s personality to the housemates, which he happens to overhear. He tries to confront Mahek and the fight takes a turn for the worse. An enraged Sky starts pulling out the skeletons from Mahek’s closet and provokes her to fight with him. Mahek loses her cool and lashes out at him. However, after a while, she breaks down and everyone helps her to her bedroom. Realising his folly, Sky apologises to Mahek but Mahek she is in no mood to listen.
As if the huge fight between Sky and Mahek was not enough, another misunderstanding takes place between Siddharth and Vida which leaves the housemates wondering whether fights would be the order of the day going forward.
