Karisma Kapoor, who was struggling to sustain her married life with Delhi-based businessman Sanjay Kapur, seems to have decided to give one more chance to her relationship. She gave a fresh start to her bond with Sanjay on the occasion of Diwali, spending time with her husband and his family at their Delhi home. The couple’s kids Samaira and Kian, who stay with their mother in Mumbai, also spent a week with their dad. Our little birdie from Delhi revealed that Karisma appeared really happy. She clicked pictures with Sanjay and her kids and sent them to sis’ Kareena Kapoor, who was in London for the launch of her wax statue at Madame Tussauds. Karisma and Sanjay had been having relationship problems since the last two to three years, as the Delhi stud was apparently too close to his female friends list that included a socialite. But now, Sanjay seems to be back with Karisma and planning a new life with her. Just recently, even Anushka Sharma, who has worn a bikini in Badmaash Company, said she’ll never wear it onscreen just for the heck of it, and that she has no such scenes in Ladies vs Ricky Bahl. Guys, if all these statements are making you feel low, here’s some good news for you. Sonam Kapoor, known for her immaculate sense of style, has declared that she is keen to wear a sexy two-piece swimsuit. The Players actor told a newspaper recently that she has worn decent outfits onscreen – from angrakhas and salwar-kameezes to jeans, skirts and vests – depending on her character. So if she is playing a character who is on the beach, then she’ll wear a bikini too as it is the correct outfit for such a setting. She does wear it in real life, so what’s the problem wearing it onscreen, she asks. She also readily admits that she doesn’t have the required figure yet so it will be a while before she agrees to wear a bikini on screen. So you guys happy now?

Unlike Aamir, Rajini usually stays away from commercials, but he has agreed to do this one as it is for a good cause – eradication of malnutrition. You may recall how Aamir had revealed last year that he is planning a campaign against malnutrition with the support of leaders from several political parties. That has finally taken shape and Rajini is willing to endorse it. As part of the campaign, hoardings of the actors will be put up all over the country. The two stars will also travel across the nation to talk about their cause. Wethinks it’s a great initiative indeed. Let’s just hope the plans continue to bear fruit and they do not fizzle out like those of several other celebrities over the years.

Akshay Kumar not comfortable speaking in English!

Akshay Kumar recently announced that hence forth he will converse only in the national language – Hindi. Reason for the decision, the Desi Boyz actor says, “I’m proud to be desi. I’m a desi boy from Delhi and I’m very proud of who I am and my roots. My fans love me for being desi, humble and hard working. They love me for speaking to them in their language. They connect with me because I remind them of their roots. So as a rule, I’ve decided to be myself.” While to the world it may appear that Akki dearly loves his country and gives up speaking in the Queen’s language (English) for Hindi, we have a different view on it. It’s again one of those ploys to promote their films, in Akshay’s case, to promote Desi Boyz and it’s also a thing of convenience for him. The actor is often at a loss of words, literally, when he has to speak in English. We are glad the star actor has got the guts to say it out loud. “After all we’re Hindi film stars. We earn our bread and butter from Bollywood. I’m uncomfortable talking in English. I’ve always been,” says Akshay and continues, “I’ve realised my fans love the dialogues I say on screen. And those are in Hindi. Why speak in a language you are not comfortable in? After all, success is about being comfortable in your own skin and I’m finally doing that.” We are glad that finally realisation dawned upon him and Akshay chose a realistic approach. Will it work for Desi Boyz or not, only time will tell! In the meanwhile, let’s hope the actor continues with his desi approach even after the release of his film rather than opting to return to butler English.

Actor Zoa Morani, who made her Bollywood debut with Shahrukh Khan’s production venture Always Kabhi Kabhi, has reportedly bagged a new film which will be directed by the veteran Shyam Benegal. Around three weeks ago, Benegal said to have narrated the script to Zoa and even called her for a screen test. After the screen test, the filmmaker was apparently convinced that Zoa can pull the role off. “She will sign the dotted line soon,” said a source close to the project. However, Benegal was unavailable for comment. Zoa is the daughter of Bollywood producer Karim Morani, who is in jail in in 2G spectrum allocation scam.

BIGG BOSS 5: Swami Agnivesh excited to be on the show

Swami Agnivesh says he will be in a relaxed mood on the show and people will see a lighter side of him

What would a saffron-clad, social activist, Arya Samaj leader do in the big, bad world of Bigg Boss? “Relax,” says Swami Agnivesh, who is geared up to reach out to India’s youth with issues like casteism, alcoholism and corruption through his entry into the controversial reality show Tuesday. The 72-year-old is “excited” about entering the secluded Karjat house, where 11 young, celebrity contestants are already fighting it out for survival. The inhabitants have no connect with the outside world and are under 24×7 camera surveillance.
“I have seen three to four episodes of the show, and it is quite exciting. There are a lot of young people in it. My supporters told me if I have a message for the youth, I must go to the show, maintain my integrity and spread the social messages I want to through the show,” Agnivesh said, sounding upbeat.
Agnivesh promises viewers will get to see his “lighter” side. Far from his fight against bonded labour, alcoholism, female foeticide and child labour, Agnivesh will be amid celebrities like model Shraddha Sharma, former Miss Afghanistan Vida Samadzai, VJ Pooja Missra, Pooja Bedi, Juhi Parmar, Shonali Nagrani, Mahek Chahal, transgender activist Laxmi Narayan Tripathi, Amar Upadhyay, Akashdeep Saigal and Siddharth Bharadwaj – who have been calling each other names lately.
A misfit in the show, isn’t he? “I will try to spread some peace. But it won’t be just that. I will try and bring them closer to the social realities of the country and challenge them to think about them. I want to be able to bring about positive thinking and motivate powerful thinking about country’s issues. For me it’s not about the dozen people who are in the Bigg Boss house. I want to send my message across to the millions of viewers who watch the show everyday,” he said.
Three pertinent issues that Agnivesh wants to talk about during his stay are casteism, alcoholism and corruption. “Casteism is a deep-rooted problem in India and the youth needs to understand the importance of eradicating it from the society. Also, today’s youth is quite into alcoholism and tobacco chewing, which are not good for the health. And of course, corruption is a big issue,” said the activist, who was in the news recently for his utterances against Team Anna. “I want the young people to dream of a corruption-free India. The Lokpal bill is just one little aspect of it…the problem is much bigger. I hope for peaceful times in this country, which is not free from corruption even after over 60 years of its independence,” he added.
That’s not all! Agnivesh also plans to tell viewers that he isn’t a strict disciplinarian after all. “I will be in a relaxed mood in the show and treat all contestants like my friends. People will see a lighter side of me,” he said, and maintained secrecy about the duration of his stay in the Bigg Boss 5 house.
According to the grapevine, Agnivesh will enter the show only as a guest, and not as a permanent contestant. When asked, he said: “I can’t say anything right now. Let me start the show at least.”

Didn’t you know? Ekta Kapoor was hellbent on getting Tusshar Kapoor and Vidya Balan together all those years ago, but it just didn’t work out! While that admission seemed to come straight from Tusshy’s heart, the rest just fizzled out. Starting with his statement that The Dirty Picture is not based on Silk Smitha’s life and that Vidya Balan is not playing the south siren. “The Dirty Picture is not based on anyone’s life. It’s just ek rangeen girl ki zindagi ki kahani (the story of a colourful girl). The media claims it is about Silk Smitha, but that’s not true. It is based on that era, not on any one person,” he says. And all these months, no one refuted the fact that the film is a biopic on Silk Smitha. But now that Silk’s relatives are getting edgier about the film, suddenly everyone is claiming it is not a biopic at all – even if the central character is named Silk. This one line set the tone for everything Tusshar had to say after that – whether it was about his role, his career, his sister Ekta or his love life.
“It was Milan (Luthria, the director) and not Ekta who offered me the role. I didn’t even speak to Ekta till I said yes to Milan. It’s been all matter-of-fact. I didn’t have much interaction with her on this.” The biggest film you have in hand right now is your sister’s film, and you didn’t even talk to her about it?
“Vidya looks really hot in the movie. She’s got something about her, but I was not attracted to her. We’ve moved beyond that. She’s a very rooted, typically classic Indian girl. We had a lot of fun, but there were no sparks.” Any guesses why?
“I am not dating Radhika Apte. That was just Ekta pulling my leg.” Oh really?
“Emraan (Hashmi) and I are pretty chilled out. We had done Good Boy Bad Boy earlier. He doesn’t have that competitive vibe.” He doesn’t need to. A film with Emraan as the solo hero works better than a film with you as the solo hero.
“A sequel should not be made to The Dirty Picture. You can’t make a sequel to a film made from the heart.” So, Kyaa Kool Hain Hum was not made from the heart? That’s why Kya Super Kool Hain Hum?
“I like to do films of all genres, so long as the people I am working with are nice.” Take what you get. Good plan.
“Awards are not of much significance to me. Whether I win or not, it doesn’t matter. It’s fine if my next win is only the Lifetime Achievement award.” Ah, so you know that you are not likely to win anything before that.
“I’ve never had to struggle for films. The audience has accepted me.” Yes. That’s why they list Gayab (where you play an invisible man) as their favourite Tusshar Kapoor film.

After a string of really bad films, Kim Sharma finally takes the bold step and quits Bollywood for good

Kudos to Mohabattein actor Kim Sharma for unabashedly accepting that she never had a successful career in the Hindi film industry. The actor who began her Bollywood ride with the YRF project never saw a blockbuster film in her entire career.The actor flaunted her squeaky voice and voluptuous body but it still didn’t do her any good. Kim, who was rumoured to have an affair with cricketer Yuvraj Singh, recently married Kenya-based businessman Ali Punjani. While shuffling her time between family and work, she finished her Bollywood commitments with the recently released film Loot starring Govinda and Suniel Shetty, which also crashed at the BO. And with that, Kim called it quits. She bid farewell to films and claimed that Loot was her last project. “I am very happily married… Loot is the last of my terrible film career,” she admitted. Now she intends to concentrate on spending quality time with her beau. While we are sure no one’s going to miss her in B-town, certainly not the viewers, here’s wishing the actor all the best for her family life.
