BIGG BOSS 5: Sunny Leone seduces Andrew Symonds!

The new task revolves around the cult movie, Sholay, where Symonds plays Gabbar and Sunny grooves to the tunes of Mehbooba. Does this make Day 73 of Bigg Boss 5 eventful? Read on to find out!

The day starts with a classic wake up song and the housemates rise and shine to daylight. Sky and Pooja Misrra are relaxing in the garden area while bitching about Siddharth Bhardwaj’s unruly behaviour. Right then Siddharth walks in to the garden and Sky starts abusing him in front of all. Siddharth retorts by saying that he is not scared of these dirty threats. This is when Juhi intervenes and tells both the boys to back off and stop fighting early in the morning. The fight continues through the day when Sky and Siddharth are called into the confession room. Here, Bigg Boss gives them a last warning for their obnoxious behaviour. Both apologise and walk out of the room. Sky, Amar and Juhi are then seen bitching about Siddharth’s loud mouth and as to how irritating his voice gets when he shouts like a maniac. On the other hand Shonali tries to calm Siddharth down and advices him not to give up so easily. Amidst all this, a new task is announced. Juhi reads out the task in front of all the housemates in the living room. The task has a Sholay theme. All the housemates are allotted one particular role.

Symonds rehearses for the task along with Siddharth, Juhi, Amar and Sky while Sunny, who is dressed as Mehbooba, performs a sensual dance which brings a smile to everyone’s face. The housemates have a blast during the task.
At night, Sky, Sunny, Amar, Pooja Misrra and Shonali take an apple, put a candle in it and surprise Juhi for her birthday. Everyone sings for her, wish her and leave the room.
Sky, Pooja Misrra, Sunny and Amar are seen hanging out in the garden area. Here, Sky convinces Pooja Misrra to enact how Siddarth had behaved when she had pushed him near the bathroom area. Sky joins in and acts like Pooja Misrra. The duo performs an excellent act, leaving everyone laughing.

Emraan Hashmi not to endorse condom brand!

The actor seems to have decided to emulate his prudish character from The Dirty Picture in real life

Emraan Hashmi rose to fame with his infamous kisses and lovemaking scenes. He was even tagged ‘serial kisser’ for a long time, something he takes a dig at in The Dirty Picture. So it came as quite a surprise that the actor is now trying to change his image. First, he did a film like The Dirty Picture in which he has only one kissing scene. Then he refused Jism 2 as it was too raunchy. Now, he has refused to endorse a condom brand. The actor claims he doesn’t want to be associated only with raunchiness anymore. Emraan told a daily newspaper, “I don’t want to endorse anything or be a part of a campaign that’s overtly sexual in nature. A condom advertisement would leave a certain impact on the audience… The success of The Dirty Picture has proved that the audience is ready to accept me in a different light. Playing a prude was a risk that played off and now I want to expand my horizon and take on more interesting characters. Doing such an ad would only amplify the image I am trying to move away from.” We agree with his reasoning, but just want to remind him that the previous time he decided to give up onscreen kissing – because his wife was uncomfortable – it didn’t work out really well for him. We hope it all works out this time around.

Sonu Niigaam wants Nevaan to take it easy

Daddy Sonu Niigaam has woken up to resist the over exposure of his li’l son Nevaan, whose version of Kolaveri di is a major hit online. Sonu admits he’d never thought his son would become so famous at the age of 4

Ever since Dhanush’s Why this kolaveri di song has been released, several other versions of the number also have hit the web, including one by Sonu Niigaam’s son, but the singer does not want to over-expose four-year-old Nevaan.

“He is too small, he is just four years old, so he couldn’t have done this for himself. As his father, I thought I should record his childhood thing. I want to protect him right now. He is too young to be over-exposed,” said the 38-year-old singer who himself began his singing career at the age of three, joining his father on stage for a Mohammad Rafi song. Sonu admits he never thought his son’s version would become such a rage. “We did it only for the posterity’s sake. We never thought that it will be such a big hit. I knew that if it is put on YouTube, it will have lots of hits, but didn’t know that it will become so big,” said Sonu at a press conference at the Aamby Valley’s annual New Year bash Glitterati 2012.
Sonu came to Mumbai at the age of 19 and after years of struggle, he hit the jackpot with Sandese aate hain in Border (1997). Two years later, his album Deewana became a superhit and later the song Yeh Dil Deewana from Pardes made him a name to reckon with. He went on to sing hits like Kal ho naa ho, Panchhi nadiyan, Suraj hua maddhham, Main hoon na, Saathiya, Main agar kahoon, Shukraan allah and Jashn-e-bahara. Sonu is currently working on an English album, Spirit Unfolding.

Mallika Sherawat: I’m a global actor, but Bollywood is my life

After trying her luck in Hollywood, Mallika Sherawat talks about her love and affection towards Bollywood

Mallika Sherawat moved to the US, thanks to her international projects, but says her heart resides in Bollywood and that people in the West are curious about the Hindi film industry. “I am more of a global actor now but Bollywood is my life. It is my bread and butter,” said Mallika here at a press conference to announce her performance at Hotel Tulip Star’s New Year’s Eve show. Mallika has made US her second home and has been there for the past two years. The actor, who was last seen in Hollywood flick Politics Of Love, asserts that the West is curious to know more about Bollywood.
About her new films, she said, “I have signed Lucky Unlucky. I am playing a Jat sprinter in it and I have signed another movie with Vivek Oberoi, Kismat Love Paisa Delhi. It will be directed by Sanjay Khanduri. Then, there is an international venture that I’m doing.”
“I’m trying to maintain a balance between both America and India. Right now there is so much curiosity in America about Bollywood and Indian actors,” said Mallika, who is in here to shoot for Khanduri’s film. The Murder girl dazzled on screen this year in item numbers Jalebi bai, Razia and Shalu ke thumke. Mallika debuted in Bollywood with a special appearance in Jeena Sirf Mere Liye and then signed Khwahish, her first film as a lead actor. Then she featured in Pyaar Ke Side Effects and Welcome. She played an Indian princess in Jackie Chan’s Chinese film The Myth.

Neha Dhupia: I needed a lot of patience to change the sex symbol perception

Former Miss India Neha Dhupia started her Bollywood career with bold films like Julie and Sheesha, but later she moved to performance-based roles with Mithya

But the transition was not easy, says the sexy Neha Dhupia whose new movie, Pappu Can’t Dance Saala  is set to hit the theatres this Friday. “A lot of hard work has gone into revamping the image of a sex symbol. People have built a perception in their minds and to change that I needed a lot of patience. I am happy that my hard work has paid off and today people don’t see me just as a sex symbol,” Neha told.
Her Julie and Sheesha had a lot of skin show and the subject was bold too, but Neha changed track and did films like Chup Chup Ke, Delhi Heights and Dear Friend Hitler.  “I am really happy with the way my career has shaped up. People have started looking at me as an actor. I never planned anything. I have grown immensely as an actor as well as a human being during my career of eight years.  I have learnt a lot from the industry. I entered Bollywood as an amature, but the industry has taught me little nuances. I have met so many different people and I learnt a lot by just observing them. I have a lot of respect for my job,” added the 31-year-old who was crowned Femina Miss India 2002.
Her first Bollywood film was 2003 release Qayamat: City Under Threat and she played Ajay Devgn’s love interest. Initially, newcomers are on signing spree, but Neha chose to move at a slower pace. “Money has never been a driving factor for me. I want to be known as an actor. I don’t want to do work just for the sake of doing it. My aim is just to do good work. Once money gets into your mind, the entire focus of your career goes haywire,” she said.
After winning critical acclaim for her peformance as a female dacoit in Phas Gaye Re Obama, Neha is gearing up for the release of her new film Pappu Can’t Dance Saala oppositeVinay Pathak.  This is not the first time that Neha will be seen sharing screen space with Vinay, she has worked with him in Raat Gayi Baat Gayi?, Dasvidaniya and Mithya. Directed by Saurabh Shukla, Pappu Can’t Dance Saala is a romantic comedy and is slated on December16.  And to prepare for her role, the actor spent some time with the real-life backup dancers. “By spending time with the backup dancers I have realised that they are very ambitious and passionate about their work and are very sorted in their mind. This is something which really important to achieve success,” she said.

Sonam Kapoor: I’m here ‘coz of my dad, Anil Kapoor

The Players actor gets candid about her talent, the perks of being a star kid and why she has done only six films in four years

Even Sonam Kapoor’s die-hard fans will agree that they love her more for her attitude and dress sense than they do for her acting talent. And Sonam has no problems with that. Sitting comfortably in black leggings, a grey poncho-style top and geeky spectacles, she says, “Being known for my fashion sense is better than being known for my catfights, for my affairs, or as someone who sleeps her way to the top.” Whew! That’s a strong statement from a strong – think-before-you-call-me-’bold’ – young woman. “Being bold is not only about stripping. It’s an attitude. It’s being different, doing roles that are more than just eye candy,” she insists. “Naina Briganza (her character in Players) is more edgy than Bittu or Ayaat (her charactes in Delhi-6 and in Mausam),throws more attitude, is one of the boys. I have always been bold.” Bold enough to play a character who loves to drink but cannot hold her drink at all, who has no qualms raising her middle finger, a girl she describes as “a bad ass but naïve, who kicks butt.” She also accepts that she shares similarities and differences with Naina in real life. “I am outspoken, but I don’t usually use bad words. I can hold my drink – I am a Punjabi!” she laughs.
Ask her about being Anil Kapoor’s daughter and she continues in the same honest vein, “I am here because of my father. I have never denied that. I get treated with a little more respect because of that. But my dad always says, ‘Several star kids come and go. If you are able to sustain it, it’s because of you, not me.’ I have never been compared to my dad; the directors I have worked with have not worked with Dad. Except Anees Bazmee. And with Abbas Mustan, my dad has done only one film (Race), so it’s not like he has a long-standing relationship with them. Everyone sees me as a separate entity from my dad.”
She may have entered the industry thanks to Anil Kapoor, but since then she’s done just six films in four years, whereas Deepika Padukone, whose debut film released on the same day as Sonam’s first, saw her twelfth film release last month. “I am not choosy. I love acting, but it’s only a job. It’s not my life. I shoot for about 100 days for a film, so even if I do only two films in a year, I don’t have time for anything else. I have friends, I have family, I want to read, watch television, travel, do things like any normal person. Acting is not my life. I have a life outside acting,” she explains.
It’s that ‘life outside acting’ that keeps Sonam balanced in an industry besotted with the number game. “Box office success matters as much as critical appreciation does, but I don’t see myself in the rat race. I don’t think I’ll ever be number one – I don’t think I have the personality and I am not diplomatic enough, nor can I suck up to people enough. I don’t even know if I am talented enough, but I am going to keep working on acting, because I love acting.”

Wanna buy Vidya Balan’s sari for Rs. 90,000?

Giving her favorite designer Sabyasachi Mukherji a break, Vidya Balan wore a red sari designed by Riyaz Gangji when she made an entrance into the Bigg Boss’s house to promote The Dirty Picture. That same outfit was bought for a whopping Rs. 90,000! And there are two more like it…are you interested?

Vidya ‘Ooh la la’ Balan is the talk of tinseltown these days for her bold and sassy performance in The Dirty Picture. Everything about her, from her dazzling smile to that suggestive wink is enough to make go men weak in the knees and women, envious. And now we hear that Vidya’s sari has been sold for Rs. 90,000! A certain Mreenal Deshraj, a television actor, has bought the red sari that Vidya wore when she made a starry entry into the Bigg Boss’s house with Emraan Hashmi and Tusshar Kapoor to promote their latest film. Our ‘Silk’ is known for her penchant for ethnic wear, especially saris, and she looks stunning in the drape. Surprisingly, the sari in the question is not designed by Vidya’s friend and fave-clothes-man Sabyasachi Mukherji, but by another well known designer, Riyaz Gangji. Apparently Riyaz designed three saris for Vidya, of which the actor has worn only one for The Dirty Picture promotions, leaving the other two for another day. Once they have been draped around Vidya’s voluptuous body, the cost of the other two saris too will shoot through the roof, for sure – any takers for those? Let us know!

KBC 5: Amitabh Bachchan, who is the ‘common’ man?

With plans for Kaun Banega Crorepati? season 6 underway, we take a closer look at one aspect of season 5 that left us confused

Amitabh Bachchan recently revealed that he will be hosting season 6 of Kaun Banega Crorepati? next year. It is scheduled to air from July or August 2012. That reminded us of the one baffling point of KBC 5 that got us wondering. When KBC 5 was launched, it was with the tagline Koi insaan chhota nahin hota (No one is unimportant). In the beginning of the show, there was a lot said about how there is no aam aadmi (common man) and we are all actually khaas aadmi (important man). By the end of the show, the concept took a different turn – host Amitabh Bachchan would often say how the aam aadmi became khaas aadmi thanks to the money they won on the show. This was most clearly evident in the season finale. So is everybody khaas aadmi? Or is everybody aam aadmi? If everybody was khaas aadmi when they started out, then what have they become after winning huge amounts of money on the show? Aam aadmi? If everybody was aam aadmi when they started out, then that’s against the show’s tagline, right? Amitabh said in an interview to IANS, “I like to treat them (those who reach the KBC hot seat) like I would a guest in my house.” Will that be an aam aadmi or a khaas aadmi comingto this very khaas aadmi’s house? Hopefully, KBC 6 will clear things up. Or else all of us will stay confused in a very khaas way!
