It’s official!

Former BoyBander, AJ McLean and wife, Rachelle, are now the proud parents of a healthy baby girl. The news was confirmed today by AJ’s mom, Denise Solis. The proud grandma posted this update:

We are officially Grandparents as of 4:51 this morning, Ava Jaymes came into our lives. She is beautiful and perfect in everyway. Just letting you all know she is fine and Mommy and Daddy are on cloud 9. We are not allowed to post any pictures yet as they have a contract with In Touch and OK Magazines, sorry. But you all will see her in a week or so.

Angus T. Jones retracts “filthy” Two and a Half Men comments

Angus T. Jones, who has starred on the CBS comedy series, Two & a Half Men, since he was 10 years old is now retracting his earlier comments, urging fans to stop watching the series.

You can read the statement below:

I have been the subject of much discussion, speculation and commentary over the past 24 hours. While I cannot address everything that has been said or right every misstatement or misunderstanding, there is one thing I want to make clear.

Without qualification, I am grateful to and have the highest regard and respect for all of the wonderful people on Two and Half Men with whom I have worked and over the past ten years who have become an extension of my family.

Chuck Lorre, Peter Roth and many others at Warner Bros. and CBS are responsible for what has been one of the most significant experiences in my life to date. I thank them for the opportunity they have given and continue to give me and the help and guidance I have and expect to continue to receive from them.

I also want all of the crew and cast on our show to know how much I personally care for them and appreciate their support, guidance and love over the years. I grew up around them and know that the time they spent with me was in many instances more than with their own families. I learned life lessons from so many of them and will never forget how much positive impact they have had on my life.

I apologize if my remarks reflect me showing indifference to and disrespect of my colleagues and a lack of appreciation of the extraordinary opportunity of which I have been blessed. I never intended that.

Shakira shared the photo with boyfriend Gerard Piqué saying, “I could have another 9 months like this!” The Colombian beauty is of course due with her first child and will also be starring on The Voice in the next season. As current judge, Christina Aguilera sets off to tour, Shakira will fill her role as a mentor and judge on The Voice.

Is Jessica Simpson Pregnant Again?

Hmmm…has Christmas come early for singer-turned-style maven Jessica Simpson?

The star’s camp isn’t talking, but word ’round the web has it that Jessica, 32, is expecting her second child with longtime fiance Eric Johnson. The “surprise” pregnancy comes just six months after Simpson gave birth to a whooping 9 pound, 13 ounce daughter the couple named Maxwell.

“She really is overjoyed!” a squeal told Us Weekly.

One of Jessica’s greatest challenges since Maxwell’s May arrival has been unloading the 70-pounds of weight she piled on during her first pregnancy. Apparently, the sometimes dimwitted blonde thought “all the weight just went away with the baby.”

As a Weight Watchers spokeswoman, her diet consists of following The Weight Watchers PointsPlus program that assigns points to foods according to the amount of carbohydrates, fat, protein and fiber.

“My body is not bouncing back like a supermodel,” she told USA Today in September. “I’m just your everyday woman who is trying to feel good and be healthy for her daughter, fiance and herself.”

Anil Kapoor considering daughter Sonam for Indian 24

Sonam Kapoor may just make a debut on television for her daddy’s new show

Anil Kapoor, who is set to bring the Indian adaption of award-winning American TV series 24 to the small screen, says he is willing to cast daughter Sonam Kapoor if there is a role for her.

“If there is a character which suits Sonam or Sonam thinks will suit her, then why not? We will definitely pitch, these days we have to talk to Sonam’s managers,”  says the 52-year-old actor on Tuesday at the launch of 24.

24 is an American television series that started in 2001 and ran till 2010, with a total of 192 episodes. Anil featured in the eighth season of the show as Omar Hassan, president of the fictional Islamic Republic of Kamistan. Meanwhile, when asked about his personal favourite television show, he said, “I liked Buniyaad, which was directed by Ramesh Sippyji. I loved that.”

Life of Pi: Brands cash in on the movie’s rave reviews?

Ang Lee’s inspirational film has been picked up by Amul for its famous topicals, and Sugar Free does a spoof on it as well

Ang Lee’s movie Life of Pi has been ‘Amul’ified. The inspirational and visually brilliant film offers some life-lessons, and it is one of the latest topicals of Amul. The dairy giant is known to put up hoardings in Mumbai based on current affairs, births, deaths, movies and whatever else is trending.

Wethinks the Life of Pi Amul ad is cute, although the film does not necessarily belong to that category. The artwork depicts the principal character of Pi Patel in the now famous boat with his now famous tiger, Richard Parker. Of course, the more famous Amul girl is there as well, feeding a ‘pie’ to Pi. The punchline goes thus: Life Of Every Pie – Amul – Angle’e’ for it.

Aamir Khan, the master of film promotion, who practically invented the art, is on a mission again. Out to promote his suspense drama Talaash, Aamir visited the bestselling author of pulp fiction and crime novels Ved Prakash Sharma in Meerut. He picked up a few unusual titles and also asked the author to mail him two of his best books to read, since he is a voracious reader himself.

While there, Aamir also made a remark on the recent grizzly and cruel hearted murder of Abdul Hakim, a young man who took part in Satyamev Jayate and was murdered because he had an inter-caste marriage. Although Abdul’s video was not aired, the media kept pressing Aamir on the topic. The forever cool gentleman that he is, Aamir maintained his composure and said that he had spoken to the higher-ups in the Meerut police department to ensure a speedy investigation.

Aamir was in turn forced by the police there to get adequate protection since it was unsafe for the actor to be travelling without security as the region where he was headed was buzzing with the murder of Abdul Hakim, and the fact that the slain young man had been on Aamir’s show in the past. Well, we must say, this really is some promotional effort on Mr Perfectionist’s part. Risky and one involving death threats – just like a crime thriller, don’t you think?

Can Ajay Devgn replace Salman Khan as the new Mr 100 crores?

With a solid track record in the last two years, can Devgn become B-town’s most bankable star?

It’s money over mind and matter. And when it comes to Bollywood, money is measured in terms of the Rs 100 crores club. Which in turn means, which actor can command the star power to have audiences clamouring to the theatres. Well, if one were to go by figures, then the star ruling the roost currently is Salman Khan. Starting from the 2010, Salman has given four Rs 100 cores-plus films in the form ofDabangg, Ready, Bodyguard and Ek Tha Tiger.

Close on the heels is Ajay Devgn with three films already crossing the Rs 100 crores mark – Golmaal 3, Singham and Bol Bachchan. And now Son of Sardaar, where Ajay had to fight tooth and nail with Jab Tak Hai Jaan to even get enough number of screens, is going to soon cross the coveted figure. Now that equals his score with Salman Khan! So, does Sallu need to feel threatened with Ajay’s newfound clout as an actor who can churn out big money at the box office?

Wethinks, no. With Dabangg 2, Salman can once again hope to tilt the scales in his favour, regaining the title of Mr 100 crores. In the meanwhile, Ajay might have to wait till March 2013 when Himmatwalareleases, to prove his command over the tricky ticket sales.

What would be interesting though is to see, when Ajay and Salman release their films on the same date, who will have a command over the one thing that matters the most – money!

It is public knowledge that Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher are no longer a couple. But the fact remains that they have not yet completed their divorce proceedings.

The grapevine is abuzz with news that apparently Demi Moore is really upset with Ashton who has supposedly moved on and found solace in the arms of Mila Kunis. As Ashton has made no bones about his new love, Demi is really peeved with her hubby and wishes to teach him a lesson.

Apparently the ex- couple is discussing how to split the finances amicably before they finalize the divorce. But it seems that Demi is not stable about what she wishes and keeps disagreeing. It is obvious that she is out to get back to him with a vengeance for his acts. Ashton on the other hand seems keen to complete the formalities at the earliest and get a closure to the relationship.

Psy the South Korean rapper has become a superstar and a celebrity. He has taken over all the channels and has created ripples at YouTube. His "Gangnam Style" music video has gone viral and has traversed across the globe big time making him a known name around the world.

He has recently overtaken the Candadian star Justin Bieber's popularity and has edged ahead to the most viewed item ever posted on YouTube. It is reported that his song has crossed more than 800 million views!

At the age of 34, Psy has shot up to success with his hilarious video which shows the unique and self designed steps of the cherubic pop star.

With the launch of the music video Psy became an instant celebrity of international stature.

YouTube had reported how rapidly Gangnam Style was surging ahead and overtaking all the giants who had until now captured the viewers interest.

Psy himself would not have imagined the response he would get to his video which he posted in the month of July 2012. However within a month, his popularity broke all geographic barriers and reached out to people far from South Korea as well.

Balaji Motion Pictures splurging Rs 150 crore on six releases for 2013

Ekta Kapoor’s films Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai 2, Ragini MMS 2,Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi, Shootout at Wadala, Ek Thi Daayan, Lootera will release in 2013

Not content with being queen of the idiot box, Ekta Kapoor has decided to take on Bollywood in a big way. Her Balaji Motion Pictures’ strategy had hitherto been to keep budgets under control and thus gain return on investments superior to big budget films. Not anymore it would seem. With millions of rupees being so much chump change in Kapoor’s cavernous rear pockets, Balaji is splashing out Rupees 150 crore for their six 2013 releases.

Tanuj Garg, CEO, Balaji Motion Pictures, who is very close to Kapoor, said, “We have put together a strong line-up with a lot of variety. The significant ramp-up in our slate demonstrates the seriousness and passion with which we are growing the movie business. We believe that an equal focus on co-productions and acquired properties is not only a financially prudent approach for us but should also accelerate our growth momentum. We’re pleased to be the only entity with market dominance in television and films alike.”

Balaji’s first two releases of 2013 will take on the mighty Indian Premier League (IPL), the only competition where an Indian team will always win. April 18 sees the release of supernatural thriller Ek Thi Daayan, starring Emraan Hashmi, Huma Qureshi, Kalki Koechlin and Konkona Sen Sharma, co-produced by Vishal Bhardwaj and directed by newcomer Kannan Iyer. On May 1, it’s the turn of well-known plagiarist Sanjay Gupta’s , the prequel to Shootout at Lokhandwala, starring Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Kangna Ranaut, Tusshar, Manoj Bajpayee Sonu Sood and Ronit Roy.

Releasing on June 7 is yet another Delhi-set comedy Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi, a title bound to baffle non-NCR types and open to obscenely creative interpretation. A co-production with Bejoy Nambiar, it marks the directorial debut of adman Aman Sachdeva and launches Siddharth Gupta and former Miss India Simran Kaur. Enough is enough. Can Bollywood now please leave Delhi alone and victimise another city now, say, Faizabad? Vikramaditya Motwane’s love story Lootera, starring Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha, releases July 5 and will test whether the director has it in him to make a commercial film. It’s a co-production with Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane and Vikas Bahl of Phantom Films.

Milan Luthria’s Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai 2 (earlier called Once Upon a Time Again), starring Akshay Kumar, Imran Khan, Sonakshi Sinha and Sonali Bendre is Balaji’s standard-bearer for the year and it releases August 8. And finally, Bhushan Patel’s Ragini MMS 2, starring pornstar-turned-Sati Savitri Sunny Leone opens on October 11, hoping to attract the sleaze demographic to theatres.

Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon: Is Star Plus trying to defame Barun Sobti?

The serial on Star Plus is nearing its unexpected end and explanations are being offered in the most bizarre way. So what’s up here? We dig in to find out…

Almost a fortnight ago, we woke up to the news of Barun Sobti, the lead actor of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, quitting the show to explore greener pastures of B-town. And while there was a persistent buzz about Viraf Phiroz Patel, a new hottie to be roped in to replace Sobti, it seems the makers now reveal a totally different story.

Whoever glued in to Star Plus between 9-9.30 pm yesterday would have been privy to the message displayed on the channel that was somewhere on the lines of – ‘Barun Sobti has decided to quit the show to pursue a career in films. And our repeated attempts to change his decisions have gone in vain. So the show will be abruptly ending on November 30.’

But hey, it isn’t the first time that a lead actor is quitting a show on television for a future in films. Remember Sushant Singh Rajput aka Maanav quit Pavitra Rishta to play a role in Abhishek Kapoor’sKai Po Che? But that never resulted in the show shutting shop, did it? So why is the case so different with Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?

It may be because the makers earned a lot of flak from the fans after news of Sobti leaving the show broke out. And that must’ve given rise to the notion that Patel, how much ever handsome he might be, would never be able to fill in the void that Barun will leave.

But is it fair to put the entire blame on Barun Sobti in full public view by displaying the message? Die-hard Sobti fans who are loudly protesting on social networking sites are of the opinion that Star Plus is trying to defame Barun.

Esha Gupta, happy birthday

The Jannat 2 babe celebrates her 27th birthday today

Born on November 28, 1985, Esha Gupta is a Bollywood starlet who catapulted into the limelight with her striking presence in Mukesh Bhatt’s Jannat 2. More recently, she appeared in Vikram Bhatt’s Raaz 3D and Prakash Jha’s Chakravyuh. Born and brought up in Delhi, Esha is a Mass Communication student, and auditioned for Femina Miss India 2007 in which she came third. She has also appeared on the Kingfisher swimsuit calendar.

Barely a year old in the industry, Esha finds herself occupied with upcoming projects, endorsements and shoots. Ask her how life has changed after her first film Jannat 2, and Esha maintains that she is getting busier with every passing day. “I still hang out with my friends and do what I used to. My friends warn me, saying I shouldn’t be that carefree. I don’t pay any heed to them. But yes, every now and then, somebody recognises me as that girl from Jannat 2. The one thing that did change was that I have become very busy. I hardly have time for family and friends. My day starts at 5:00 am and ends at 10:30 pm. There is so much to do – shooting, workouts, meetings, narrations and interviews… phew!,” said Esha in her interview to BollywoodLife.

The crew cut surely lends a very rugged feel to his personality. Khan will reportedly start shooting for Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick very soon, and we wonder if this style statement is for his new and exciting role.
