Here’s the dude who was recently in the news thanks to his girlfriend Aashka Goradia who was pining for him in the house of Bigg Boss 6. But what’s Rohit busy doing? He gives us a sneak peek…

Rohit Bakshi has wooed the small screen audiences with his roles in popular soaps like Kahiin To Hoga and Kyunki Saans Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. But currently, he is busy promoting his debut filmDehraadun Diary. Here are the excerpts of an interview with him:
What was the reason to select Dehraadun Diary as your debut film?
When I signed this film, it was a decision based on its strong script and good storyline. I wanted to do this film because it is a take on how the system reacts when a corrupt politician’s daughter falls in love with a common man and how things change with that person. This film is based on a real life incident. Now, when all of us have witnessed this shameless act of Delhi gang-rape case where not a single politician came out in the open to support the victim or to take a stand for her, and we the common people are fighting against our own system for justice, it’s really complicated. It’s the time to change ourselves. I always wanted to start my career with such a powerful and relevant subject.
How did you start your acting career?
I used to do print ads in Delhi and came down to Mumbai to try my luck in modelling. I gave a lot of auditions but nothing materialised. I was never interested in doing shows, as I had never faced the camera before. However, even without giving an audition, I was zeroed in for Titliyan on Sahara One. It was troublesome to mouth the dialogues. Later, I went on to do Choodiya, Tanhayiha, Sukanya, Lavynya and Tum Bin Jao Kahan. Balaji approached me for a cameo in Kutumb and I eventually landed up doing Kyunki, Kahiin Toh Hoga, Kahiin Kissi Roz and Kaisa Yeah Pyar Hai.
Tell us something about your role in the film?
I am playing the role of Anshul Sharma. Anshul is in love with the daughter of an MP with a criminal past. Anshul and the girl want to get married but they face opposition from the girl’s family. Anshul’s maturity makes him decide that they would take the marital vows only when both the families oblige and accept the relationship. Anshul is a peace loving person but at the same time, he believes in fighting for justice. Anshul is what most of us want to be.
What’s this film all about?
This film is about ordinary people who put up an extraordinary fight. People who become the epitome of ‘standing for your rights’. The film is the journey of a mother who has lost the child she once held in her hands. It’s the journey of a brother who could have focused on his career, his future, yet decides to give it all up so that never again does a brother lose his bhai to an act of rage.
Dehraadun Diary is a film about the strength of a common man, the fury that loss leaves you with and the fearlessness that comes only with unconditional love.
Why did you switch from the small screen to the silver screen and what are your future plans?
I have been working in the TV industry for quite a long time now and I think I am ready for films. As an actor one needs progression and after television everyone aspires for films. I surely want to do masalafilms; in fact, I don’t mind running around trees. But I won’t quit television for sure. I would like to create a balance. TV keeps the kitchen fire burning as it pays very well.

Does Imran Khan regret doing Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola?

Does Imran Khan Regret Doing Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola?, Imran Khan, Imran Khan On Playing Matru, Imran Khan The Second Choice For Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, Pankaj Kapur, Shahid Kapoor, Vishal Bhardwaj, Why Imran Khan Find His Matru Character Tough?

The Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu actor went through a grueling time to perfect his character Matru’s histrionics in Vishal Bhardwaj’s next. Wonder if this is the sole reason why he wished he had not done the film in the first place?

Little did Imran Khan know that he’ll be facing a tough time getting into the skin of his character Matru in his upcoming release Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola. The Luck actor who was Vishal Bhardwaj’s second choice for the role of Matru (the first being Shahid Kapoor ) was surprised with the filmmaker’s decision to cast him in the movie, considering that he had no knowledge of the language and the desi character was completely alien to him.
“Vishal later explained it to me that casting against type was what was exciting. The role sounded exciting to me but once I took it up, I realised that delivering the role would be one uphill task, in terms of the body language and mouthing desi dialogues,” said Imran in an interview, and elaborated, “I had to create a three dimensional character of Matru. Playing the role gave me consistently sleepless nights because I didn’t know if I was doing it right. I remember constantly thinking through the shoot that I had made a huge mistake taking this role up.” Hmmm… now that’s quite a confession no?
Well, it’s certainly not easy to please the talented Vishal Bhardwaj , Imran! But don’t worry, as your veteran co-star Pankaj Kapur has said some nice things about your performance. Wanna know what those are?

Is Anushka Sharma using catfights with Deepika Padukone to promote herself?

Anurag Kashyap, Anushka Deepika Catfight, Anushka Sharma, Anushka-Ranveer, Anuskha Deepika Fight, Anuskha Deepika Rivalry, Ayan, Ayan Mukerji, Band Baaja Baaraat, Deepika, Deepika Padukone, Deepika Ranveer, Deepika Ranveer In Ram Leela, Hirani, Kashyap, Ram Leela, Ranveer Singh, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

The Band Baaja Baaraat actor seems to be quite vocal and catty about her rivalry with fellow actor Deepika Padukone

When celebrities are asked about their onscreen rivalries in public, they either keep mum or at times, fly off the handle. And Anushka has been one such catty celeb who has chosen to shoot her mouth off rather than maintain a dignified silence on her rivalry with Deepika Padukone.
So when Deepika went on to say that she is not competing with any fellow actor and her competition was only with herself, laying her rivalry with Anushka at rest, the latter went on to make fiery statements like, “Stop throwing garbage at me since I don’t throw garbage at you” she said about Deepika, She also tried to prove how she was a better person than Deepika when she said, “A friend of Deepika had called up to say that she is doing Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and not Anushka. My friends don’t call, do they? I am Kashyap’s and Hirani’s choice. She is Ayan’s and whosoever’s. I never pull anybody down. That makes me nice, right?”
Meanwhile there were also reports that Anushka had reduced her fees for brand endorsements so she could bag more offers and undercut her rival Deepika . The angry young woman shot down that bit of news by showing how she was more special than her rival, “Today I command a premium. I have earned it. And I don’t need to slash my prices. The best brands and filmmakers work with me happily and pay what I demand. But these are things that you don’t flaunt,” said Anushka clearly ‘flaunting’ her status as one of the more ‘special’ actors around!
So, what’s up with Anushka? Is she really that insecure to be using these public platforms to get back at Deepika and ensure some publicity? Or is her anger genuine? And if so, why? Could it be because of the current closeness between Anushka’s ex-beau Ranveer Singh and Deepika on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram Leela ? We don’t know what it is, but something definitely seems to be irking Anushka, so much so that she shoots off her mouth at every given chance. Time to cool off, babes!
