Salman Khan’s mega-successful film Dabangg made Sonakshi Sinha a star overnight, but now it seems that Sona is too occupied for Salman. The super busy Sinha babe has been replaced by Kangna Ranaut as the face of Sohail Khan’s much popular Celebrity Cricket League. Is all well between the Dabangg co-stars?

Very few people have the kind of dream debut that Sonakshi Sinha had ready on her platter when she entered Bollywood. Salman Khan’s Dabangg made the young actor a household name. Sallu too left no stone unturned to promote Sonakshi during the release of the film. The 26-year-old then followed up her success with Akshay Kumar’s Rowdy Rathore and Ajay Devgn’s Son Of Sardaar. The Sinha babe also ended the year on rocking note with Sallu’s Dabangg 2. But now it seems that Sonakshi is too tied up for Salman.

Though Sonakshi has always maintained that she doesn’t belong to any camp, she can’t deny the big role Sallu has played in making her the star that she is today. But now that she has no films with the macho actor, a little birdie tells us that Sonakshi is being inaccessible to Sallu. She is not endorsing Salman’s brother Sohail Khan’s popular cricket tournament CCL (Celebrity Cricket League) either. So Kangna Ranaut has been roped in to endorse the starry affair. The third installment of this league will kick off from the first week of February.

Sona is shooting for the remaining portions of Lootera . She has also been busy with Once Upon a Time In Mumbaai 2 for quite some time and will gear up for Bullet Raja in the coming days.While the announcement of this league was made, Sona was seen everywhere with Salman to promote her film Dabangg 2, but sadly she has no time for Sohail’s sporty venture now. And looks like Cezanne’s dream script has finally arrived, all thanks to Ekta Kapoor. Madam Balaji, we are told, is now planning to make a show based on the novel Custody by Manju Kapur which is the story of marital break-ups in an upper-middle-class family of Delhi. And our feathered friends inform that Cezanne and Divyanka Tripathy have almost been finalised for this one.

But wait, while this buzz is gaining force with every passing moment, Cezanne has denied being approached for any such show. Ooops! So what’s the truth? Will Cezanne be back on the small screen, or is this yet another figment of a fan’s imagination? Guess it’s time to wait and watch. Ciao!

Anil Kapoor invited to be a part of a special segment at the Toronto International Film Festival

The Race 2 star will be attending the prestigious film festival to be held on January 21

Anil Kapoor is probably one of the only actors around who has become the most notable face of Indian cinema in the West. Based on the strength of his roles in films like Slumdog Millionaire and his television show 24, Anil has become a known face not only in Hollywood but also in world cinema.

So it comes as no great surprise when the actor was invited for a special segment titled In Conversation at the Toronto International Film Festival on January 21. It will be an hour-long chat session, where some of the most iconic movies that Anil has been a part of will be discussed at length. There will also be a 20-minute interactive session, where cinema lovers will get to ask the Mr India star questions related to his films and life.

Well, our desi star is surely going places. And knowing Anil, we’re sure that he will have the slickest accent in place, and also since Bollywood is known for dance, we hope that he does the One two ka four step for his audience! Jhakaas idea, isn’t it? What say BollywoodLifers?

Sophiya Haque passes away: Sophie Choudry and Pooja Bhatt offer condolences

The sudden news of actor-VJ Sophiya Haque’s death has stunned everybody

The popular VJ from the 90s, Sophiya Haque, who rose to fame in India with the Channel V show Sophiya’s Choice, passed away in the wee hours of January 16. We hear that the actor-dancer had been battling cancer for a long time and was admitted to a hospital in London where she died in her sleep.

Sophiya had acted in films like Snip, Bombay Dreams and The Far Pavilions and also did BBC’s Fairy Tales series with Denise Van Outen. She was last seen in a British Bollywood musical called Wah Wah Girls in 2012.

Bollywood stars offered their condolences on Twitter.

Starring Nana Patekar and Sanjeev Jaiswal, The Attacks of 26/11 is finally ready to hit the screens in March. Ram Gopal Varma has managed to make the film despite the many hitches he faced. The new poster is obviously designed keeping the 26/11 catastrophe in the mind – how the terrorists arrived in a rubber dinghy and held Mumbai hostage for 60 hours. Although the terror caused by them is something that can’t be forgotten, it’s still a debatable topic if RGV should have had made this film or no. He has many supporters and detractors alike.

The poster looks realistic and we hope that the film is made along similar lines; not with exaggerated scenes and hammed up performances. The incident shook the whole nation after all, and the least we expect from RGV is to make a movie that presents a clear picture of what happened that day rather than spicing up such a serious issue with unnecessary elements.

Prabhu Deva  is on a roll these days. The actor has proved that his filmmaking talents match, if not surpass, his dancing skills, as his first two Bollywood movies proved to be Rs 100 crore hits. And now, the Rowdy Rathore director is apparently readying himself up for his third Hindi project starring Ajay Devgn and Deepika Padukone.

And the reason for Prabhu Deva’s rather off-beat pairing is that the director wants a rough and tough actor opposite a demure, sweet girl. And not only that, this time Prabhu Deva is going for an original script for the film, since both his earlier films Wanted and Rowdy Rathore were remakes of South films.

Anurag Kashyap and Rahul Bose tie up for a film

The maverick filmmaker will produce the actor’s new directorial based on Mohsin Hamid’s book Moth Smoke

Actor Rahul Bose, who was last seen in Deepa Mehta’s Midnight’s Children , was sitting on at least 18 drafts of a script that he really wanted to turn into film. But six years of doing the rounds of producers and financiers’ offices, Rahul was not getting anywhere. He finally approached writer-filmmaker Anurag Kashyap to produce it and got a go ahead for his film. Anurag, who is known to be the leader of indie cinema enthusiasts, is now being looked upon as someone who can help produce hatke commercial film projects to make them more viable.

But what is so special about this story that Rahul is so itching to turn into celluloid? It is an adaptation of Mohsin Hamid’s book Moth Smoke. Hamid, of course, is the author of The Reluctant Fundamentalist, which has a film version directed by Mira Nair. But grapevine goes that Moth Smoke – which is a story of love, friendship, jealousy, betrayal and crime, set in 1990s Pakistan – is a better book thanFundamentalist.

What is the story of Moth Smoke? Here’s what the back cover of the book says: “In Lahore, Daru Shezad is a junior banker with a hashish habit. When his old friend Ozi moves back to Pakistan, Daru wants to be happy for him. Ozi has everything: a beautiful wife and child, an expensive foreign education – and a corrupt father who bankrolls his lavish lifestyle. As jealousy sets in, Daru’s life slowly unravels. He loses his job. Starts lacing his joints with heroin. Becomes involved with a criminally-minded rickshaw driver. And falls in love with Ozi’s lonely wife. But how low can Daru sink? Is he guilty of the crime he finds himself on trial for?”

Sounds, rather reads, interesting…. But will Rahul be acting in the movie based on this story? If so, which role do you think he will or should play – Daru or Ozi? Meanwhile, Rahul confirms that he will start shooting for his dream project in mid-2013. Good to see the ‘Bose’ back in action!

She wore her blonde hair straight, and she rocked a pink lip. She looked stunning! Could this be a sneak peak into Nicki’s 2013 wardrobe? The former ‘American Idol’ judge has announced that her first child will be welcomed through gestational surrogacy in the next few weeks! What great news!

Kara DioGuardi may not be involved with American Idol anymore, but the former judge made an exciting announcement of her own on the day of the show’s 12th season premiere! Kara has confirmed on Jan. 16 that she and husband Mike McCuddy are expecting a baby boy through a gestational surrogate within the next few weeks!

In a statement to People, Kara confirms the upcoming birth of her first child. “We are eagerly awaiting the healthy and happy birth of our son Greyson James Carroll McCuddy.” The couple, who were married in 2009, struggled for years with fertility issues and many failed IVF attempts. Eventually, they decided to explore alternative routes to parenthood, including adoption and surrogacy.

After their exploration, Kara says, “We made a personal decision to try with a surrogate. I asked someone we knew, a friend. And on the first try, it worked. We’re praying for our surrogate, that she gets through this and that it’s as easy on her as it can possibly be, because she’s been a gem throughout the whole process. I’ve got two people on my mind: her and the baby. She’s given us this incredible gift.”

Kara seems to have been making preparations to welcome Greyson into her life, as it was reported on Jan. 3 that she enormous mansion in Studio City, CA for $6.3 million just before the end of 2012. She has bought the home in 2007 for $3.5 million, making herself quite a pretty profit.

According to the Daily Mail, Kara had been diving her time between L.A. and a property in Maine, where she now plans on spending the majority of her time. Sounds like the perfect place to raise a child!
