Director Nikhil Advani gets ambitious as he plans to cast not one or two but eight of Bollywood’s top divas in his next project
Some of the names on the mind of
Kal Ho Naa Ho director Nikhil Advani for his next film are Madhuri Dixit, Shabana Azmi, Dimple Kapadia, Karisma Kapur, Rani Mukerji, Preity Zinta, Deepika Padukone and Genelia D’Souza. How the director plans to rope all of them in one film is an altogether different matter.
Nikhil plans to start the film by next year, if everything goes according to plan. The project is still untitled but according to the latest buzz it’s being touted to capture the change in Indian women in all her shades from different generations. According to a source, Madhuri, Shabana and Dimple will stand for one era, while Karisma will define the second. Rani and Preity will feature in the third segment of the story while Deepika and Genelia would portray the Gen-Next women. Incidentally, this would be Madhuri’s comeback film after
Aaja Nachle. Shabana and Madhuri will share screen space after 14 years since
Mrityudand, and Madhuri and Karisma were last seen together in Yash Raj’s
Dil To Pagal Hai. On the other hand, Rani and Preity were last seen together in Karan Johar’s
Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. While most actors have worked with each other before, Deepika and Genelia will be seen together for the first time. If Advani does manage to rope in all these B-town beauties, it’ll be a casting coup of sorts!
