Sanjay Dutt paranoid after ‘Rascals’ debacle

After the lukewarm response to Rascals the producer-actor is vigilant of every move he makes

Recently, Sanjay Dutt revealed in an interview to a daily newspaper that he is upset the box-office result of his first production Rascals did not match his expectations. Fortunately, the superstar was courageous enough to accept that the fault lay in the script. So now, Sanjay has become doubly careful of his next films, not only his production projects, but also acting assignments. And that’s a good thing, coz he can’t afford to be lackadaisical when his friends – Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn – are basking in the limelight for delivering consistent hits at the BO. According to the interview, Sanjay has told all his current filmmakers (of The Department and Zilla Ghaziabad) that he is willing to reshoot the entire film if necessary. That’s not all, unlike Rascals, which he overlooked as he was busy shooting for Karan Johar’s Agneepath, Sanjay has been intermittently checking out the rushes of his films for personal satisfaction. Meanwhile on the production front, he has scrapped the sequel of Rascals and is now focusing on the remake of the 1982 hit Satte Pe Satta. As you may or may not know, that Karisma Kapoor will step into Hema Malini’s part in the original. Let’s hope his vigilance saves his fans from yet another disaster!
