As per recent reports, Shahid Kapoor has signed two new films – one opposite his
Badmaash Company co-star Anushka Sharma and another with the leading lady of
Tanu Weds Manu. At last, with the arrival of a new crop of leading ladies, the
Mausam star is no longer restricted to just the Amritas and Ayeshas.
Shahid’s project with Anushka under the Yash Raj banner will be directed by Maneesh Sharma of the fame
Band Baaja Baaraat. And the one opposite Kangna Ranaut is most probably the sequel of Anand Rai’s
Tanu Weds Manu. It isn’t a surprise that YRF cast the pair again, the two stars had exhibited great chemistry in
Badmaash Company and if rumours are to be believed even off screen they are extremely friendly. But more than anything else, we are looking forward to the current controversy queen, Kangna and lover boy Shahid’s intriguing combination. Will they create fireworks on, and off screen? Maybe, especially since the good-looking lad has had his share of pow-wows with both – Sonam Kapoor in
Mausam and Anushka during the initial phase of
Badmaash Company. By the way, this is the latest fad in B-town that since scripts are based on tried and tested plots, filmmakers cast untried pairs to bring freshness to their run-of-the-mill projects. Unlike a few years back when hit actors continued being paired opposite each till the filmmakers ran out of stories to tell.
