Will Shahrukh Khan make a good Hamlet?

King Khan is truly the king when it comes to conveying negative emotions like hate, jealousy and revenge. Perhaps that’s one of the reasons we think he could do complete justice to the role of the prince of Denmark, Hamlet

The actor is apparently a huge fan of director Vishal Bhardwaj and he loved the way the director used all the actors in the movie. The news that’s doing the rounds of B-town lately is that SRK is giving serious thought to working in Vishal’s Bollywood adaptation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Prince Hamlet is a fictional character and the tormented protagonist. From avenging his father’s death to killing a lot of his close family in the process, the character is dealing with a great deal of chaos and struggles with his own sanity.Now we think that Mr Khan would be the perfect choice for the tragedy – if you remember, Darr, Devdas and Hum Tumare Hain Sanam are films in which we saw the actor setting a benchmark with his negative yet impactful roles. He’s known for showing off the best embittered expressions and taking the most scornful revenges onscreen. We still wonder though how the Bollywood version of the classic play would be, with SRK sprinkling in his own spice and the director modifying it as per Indian taste. We reckon it’s going to be quite an interesting mixture. Also, sources say that King Khan has been a little reluctant to enter the romantic space again at this stage in his life and career and hence he is planning to try his hand at serious cinema. The Saat Khoon Maaf director has been waiting to work with SRK for a very long time. He had approached the actor for Two States, which didn’t work out. But there’s a ray of hope now and Vishal is probably waiting to know what G.One’s next move would be. Well, so are we!
