Should Vidya Balan dirty dance in public?

The Dirty Picture star is all set to do the Ooh la la dance in a free-for-all event. And wethinks she might be in for some trouble

Vidya Balan’s raunchy moves in her upcoming film The Dirty Picture have got her a lot of attention from the media and the masses. Cashing in on the hype, the music launch of the film will be a free-for-all public event, we are told. The launch is scheduled to be held at a suburban mall where Vids will raise the temperature with her seductive moves. Apparently Vidya and her co-stars will be seen in their respective film avatars and will be joined by Bappi Lahiri, Shreya Ghoshal and Kamaal Khan. Being touted as Ms Balan’s first ‘live’ public performance, the event is attracting a lot of attention, and we are expecting a certain amount of hoo-ha about it to hit the headlines as soon as word spreads. What surprised us is that though the movie has been ‘A’ certified, the filmmakers have chosen to showcase it in a public place, where kids will also be present. This will definitely draw a lot of flak from the moral police and will also be a logistical nightmare, what with all the men wanting to get close and dirty with Vidya. Wethinks producer Ektaa Kapoor wants to make the most of the occasion and the impending controversy, if the event does take place, might work for the film. This doesn’t feel like a good move and might end up causing damage to the so-far squeaky clean image Vidya has, in spite of her incendiary work in Ishqiya and now TDP!
