The MI:4 actor will turn 52 this year
Anil Kapoor made his filmi debut in 1979 with the Sanjeev Kumar-Rakhee-starrer Hamare Tumhare, but it was with films like Shakti, Woh 7 Din and Mashaal that he began to be recognised as a good actor. He played the lead in Saheb (1985) and since then, there’s been no turning back.He could be the comic hero, the serious one and even an anti-hero with ease. He did several dual hero films with Jackie Shroff, and almost all of them were hits. Anil then managed to do what no mainstream Bollywood hero has done so far: enter Hollywood! He played a prominent role in the hit American television series 24 and then did a cameo in Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol. However, despite its worldwide success, Anil will have a quiet birthday this year, as 2011 also brought him a lot of sorrow. His dad Surinder Kapoor, who has been a constant support throughout his career, passed away in September. So Anil won’t be throwing any of his trademark grand parties this year. He will just ring in his 53rd year with a quiet family dinner. We wish this Jhakaas actor a happy birthday and hope the new year brings him joy and no sorrow.
